Ensuring animal welfare through analysis
CSL specialises in the research and development of tests to assess physiological indices of stress and reproduction by non-invasive means.
With increasing public concern for the humane treatment of domestic, wild and zoo animals, ensuring animal welfare is paramount. Those respsonsible for keeping captive animals must respond quickly to symptoms of animal stress as well as proactively manage the welfare of their animals.
CSL has developed non-invasive techniques to measure stress hormones (e.g. cortisol, corticosterone) and reproductive indicators (e.g. progesterone) in faeces and saliva.
