Crop protection products are used throughout the world on growing and stored products. Ensuring residues from these chemicals are minimised and compliant with EU regulations is paramount to guarantee consumer safety.

This course is designed to cover the critical stages of undertaking pesticide residue analysis. From management of a laboratory to chromatographic approaches to pesticide analysis, this course covers topics of relevance to laboratory analysts working with foods destined for the EU.

Who should attend

CSL food analysis training courses provide a stimulating combination of hands-on practical and theory teaching. Courses are designed for professionals seeking to update or expand their knowledge of specific analytical areas within an EU regulatory framework. Highly relevant to those looking to build analytical infrastructure, with a particular focus on sample tracking and quality assurance.

By the end of the course you will have

  • An overview of pesticide residue analysis.
  • Knowledge of how to validate a multi-residue method.
  • Experience in the operation and optimisation of a range of modern instruments.

What we offer you

We aim to create a learning experience for each course member, which will equip them with skills that can be applied directly in the workplace. Training is carried out in first class facilities, by highly experienced staff, and is delivered through seminars, practical work and demonstrations.

Training and demonstrations in the laboratory will cover the multi-residue determination of pesticides in fruit and vegetables by GC/FPD, GC/MS and LC/MS, focusing on sample processing, extraction and clean up procedures, including cryogenic milling and solid phase extraction. The training will also cover validation of methods for pesticide analysis in accordance with ISO17025 accreditation. Emphasis will be on demonstrating the procedures needed to handle enforcement samples such as 'chain of custody' to ensure that there are no areas of contention with respect to possible disputed results.

To obtain the most value from our courses, delegates should have a good command of the English Language.
